Christmas Break Ends

Nothing can be more satisfying than an afternoon and part of the evening with our kids and grand daughter. We had a wonderful drive out to their place. It's been a very frigid day at -30c but the sun shone so brilliantly off the snow and the highway was good for the drive. We all decided to go check out the new Indian food restaurant for supper. The food was exceptional and we had a very wonderful time. The rest of the evening was spent quietly in our cozy home.
Today marks the end of the Christmas break and holiday. Wow...it was so great and it felt so delicious to have so much time to go do all this vacation stuff together and see such great friends. Kaylie starts back to school tomorrow too.

In like a Lion

So, this New Year is blowing in like a Lion! It's very windy and it's driving the snow at almost a total horizontal. Up to almost 8 inches or 25 cm. are expected.
We spent a nice quiet evening at home to see in the New Year. We both are glad to be home and had enough fun away over Christmas to satisfy the need for a Social night out.
I started getting my nails done again. Love having them done again and Kasandra does a phenomenal job of them.

What can be said in New Year rhymes,
That's not been said a thousand times?
The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.
We rise up laughing with the light,
We lie down weeping with the night.
We hug the world until it stings,
We curse it then and sigh for wings.
We live, we love, we woo, we wed,
We wreathe our prides, we sheet our dead.
We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that's the burden of a year.
