Until I fly away on a holiday :) I'm super excited to be going!!! I am pulling all my clothes and stuff I need to pack today and will finish the final packing tomorrow morning. I will try to post while I'm away, but no guarantees. My Sis does not have Internet, so I hope to get out to the library or Internet Cafe.

I found this over at Celebrating Women for the Real World and couldn't resist posting this as well. Enjoy :)
After 30 years of marriage, a couple was lying in bed one evening, when the misses felt her husband begin to fondle her in ways he hadn’t in quite some time.
It almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back.
He then caressed her shoulders and neck, slowly worked his hand down over her breasts, stopping just over her lower stomach.
He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, caressed past the side of her breast again, working down her side, passed gently over her buttock and down her leg to her calf.
Then, he proceeded up her inner thigh, stopping just at the uppermost portion of her leg. He continued in the same manner on her right side, then suddenly stopped, rolled over and became silent.
As she had become quite aroused by this caressing, she asked in a loving voice, ‘Honey, that was wonderful. Why did you stop?’
‘I found the remote,’ he mumbled.

I have discovered the joy of reading through Blogs and seeing how so many talented women bring their uniqueness out on their Blog. The crafts and art and decorating and wisdom and reviews and giveaways are just phenomenal!! I marvel at how women have taken their place in the world of commerce and are actually achieving enormous leaps forward in standing tall along side of men, who up until recently were given preference over woman.
So, in browsing around the Blogosphere, I came across another talented gal and is having a giveaway...a Vintage Button Bracelet. I love all things vintage and that's what drew me to this giveaway. Make your way over to A Tad Bit Prudish and enter yourself. Also pop on over to the designer, Cupcake Studio to check out all the other gorgeous stuff in her Etsy shop.

I'll be flying away on Westjet on Thursday afternoon after I drive the two hours to Grande Prairie, Alberta.
I'll be landing in Winnipeg, Manitoba at 9:30pm and spending Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday with my best friend and her sister. My friend is speaking at a Woman's Wellness Day and I want to be on the sidelines cheering her on :)
My baby Sister will be picking me up in Winnipeg and bringing me over the border into Kenora, Ontario. I am SO, SO excited!!! I'll be covering 4 Provinces!!

When browsing through my Blog list I ran across this little video over at The Gypsy's Corner, that just moved me to tears. It's in the simple things of life where we find joy. Sit back and take a minute to just breath.

So, this is the project I've been working on for the past week. I've painted this for a girlfriend who has a lot of the warm Autumn colors in her new home.

Thirty-five years ago a special little (well, I suppose 10 lbs. isn't exactly little) bundle was delivered to our family. Mom had this wee girl at home, so I was there the very second she was born and have adored her ever since, because you see, she also was born the day after I turned seventeen. Big sunshiny smiles, a voice that could loudly..erm...sing :P, and a sister that grew up to be an incredible friend. Today I wish you a wonderful Birthday Rachel! I love you!
P.S....that's Mom sitting next to Rach.

This morning I went into the Hospital, to the Diagnostic Imaging department and had an ECG...Echo Cardiogram...to find out what is going on with my heart. Thankfully we are one step closer to some answers. I'm hoping this will finally lead to the next step in my Wellness program. I can tell you this much....I certainly have a heart beat...haha!

This is the "Day Before" the big "B" day...Hubby was supposed to leave for work this aft and be gone for a week so he wanted to give me his gift for my Birthday a day early. What a darling!He knew I was interested in getting a Season Set of "Sex and the City"...he got me the first two Seasons...wow!! I was fully content that my trip to Winnipeg Manitoba and Kenora, Ontario, leaving the 23rd of this month, was more than an extravagant gift, since making that trip was such a huge gift in and of itself. Thanks Hunny :)
The icing on the cake????....I won that Scrapbooking t-shirt from "From the Fence Post"....I feel SO spoiled!!

Conservative Leader Stephen Harper waves to supporters as he takes the stage at his election headquarters in Calgary after winning a second minority government, Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008.
I can safely say now that I voted Conservative and am very pleased to see our prime Minister win this election. Most predicted the Conservatives to win a Minority, however Harper has won with a larger minority than expected.

I received this from a Pastor's wife and thought it was a truth I should share.
I want to thank You for what you have already done. I am not going to wait until I see results or receive rewards;
I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until I feel better or things look better;
I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry or until they stop talking about me;
I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears ;
I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves;
I am going to thank you right now. I am not going to wait until the children are asleep and the house is quiet;
I am going to thank you right now. I am not going to wait until I get promoted at work or until I get the job;
I am going to thank you right now. I am not going to wait until I understand every experience in my life that has caused me pain or grief;
I am thanking you right now. I am not going to wait until the journey gets easier or the challenges are removed;
I am thanking you right now.
I am thanking you because I am alive
I am thanking you because I made it through the day's difficulties.
I am thanking you because I have walked around the obstacles.
I am thanking you because I have the ability and the opportunity to do more and do better.
I'm thanking you because FATHER, YOU haven't given up on me

I found this quote over on Hubby's Blog, in his post "Coffee breaks helped our Marriage"
"Quite often the pain found by a marriage counselor is the pain caused and aggravated by a thousand small neglects. Small neglects that would have and could have been be found, and dealt with over a daily cup of coffee."
I by no means would suggest that coffee is a miracle cure for an ailing marriage...but the time taken to invest in each other is :)

The sunshine is bright and the temps are mild, making a peaceful fall day for this Thanksgiving weekend.Many are roasting turkeys and gathering for a big family dinner....or hanging out with friends.
I hope that whatever you are doing and whomever you hang with today, that we remember with thankful hearts, all the blessings we have.
"Thou has given me so much... Give me one thing more, a grateful heart."--George Herbert
"... when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present--love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure--the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."--Sarah Ban Brethnach

Forgive me while I fix the glitches I've encountered with my template. As you can see I had to change it because the other one, which I loved by the way, went side ways and I needed to get an entirely new one. Then I discovered that the other one that I saved before deleting it disappeared, so I need to add back some widgets. I spent more than an hour trying to figure out why my signature disappeared and then gave up in frustration...a computer techie I am NOT!!

Today is our official Anniversary day...October 10, 1976
32 years ago we stood before family & friends and vowed
"to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part."
These words were read to us from the Book of Ruth:
"Entreat me not to leave you, or to return from following after you, For where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. And where you die, I will die and there I will be buried. May the Lord do with me and more if anything but death parts you from me."
We were so young and naive...did we even think we understood the depth of those vows??...no, but those two naive people stood through all those life circumstances and truly "became One"
