Up in Smoke 2

Curtesy of

"B.C. officials in the West Kelowna area say they have one wildfire about 40 per cent contained, but admit they have been unable to get a handle on two others burning in the region." CTV News
"So far, 11,000 people have been told to leave their homes, while another 6,000 are on evacuation alert. Some are staying at a local community centre or in hotels, while others are bunking with friends and family." CTV News
Sad to say, this fire keeps's creating a lot of unrest, fear and lack of sleep among those on Evacuation Alert. I must admit I cannot even imagine being in a situation like this. It just saddens me to think of all the loss and damage of so many families.

On the home front, it's gorgeous, sunny weather and after several days of torrential thunder storms rolling in, this entire week is supposed to be sunny, dry and hot...finally! What a great start to this week!!

Yesterday our City had an Airshow and I caught a bit of it with planes flying, screeching and booming across the sky overhead. Most impressive was the tight formation of the famous Canadian Airforces Snow Birds

Wishing all my Blogger friends a wonderful Summer week :)

Wow, Faye, you got some great shots of the Snowbirds!!! Aren't they awesome? Didn't you get major rain Sunday afternoon? We sure did driving home and it looked like it came from the North.

Hi Fay,
Jim and I have been on vacation. I just read Dagmar's blog and found out about the fires. How terrible. She is safe and I am happy to know you are not in the fire area.

Take care of yourself and be safe.
