"A tingling, misty marvel
Blew hither in the night,
And now the little peach-trees
Are clasped in frozen light.

Upon the apple-branches
An icy film is caught,
With trailing threads of gossamer
In pearly patterns wrought.

The autumn sun, in wonder,
Is gayly peering through
This silver-tissued network
Across the frosty blue.

The weather-vane is fire-tipped,
The honeysuckle shows
A dazzling icy splendor,
And crystal is the rose."

- Evaleen Stein, November Morning

So, we've moved from October into November, which is that much closer to my most fave season....Christmas. Usually by now I'm finished Christmas gift shopping &/or making handmade gifts. Ok, so I have finished one, but I feel SO uninspired right now. Of course, this isn't the worst thing in the world, since there is still plenty of time for that shopping spree.....but there is however not much time for handmade gifts.
Pennies have been scarce these past few months so we had cut back to the bare necessities. Today however we have re-connected our Internet service, so I will have the pleasure of journaling on this Blog once more.
My Mother-in-law is settling into her new room in the Care Home and is happy. I really believe she was lonely, so being around others has cheered her up. I feel like it's been so worth the emotional/physical energy it took to move her. It's a priviledge to be there for our aging parents and spend time cherishing those rare precious moments.Too soon our time with our parents on this earth evaporates into memories that surround us like a cloud.
