Happy New Years Eve

I don't know about you, but 2009 has brought both wonderful, memorable times as well as difficult challenges. Year after year, we all face life with it's "ups-and-downs"...that's what makes us who we are. My prayer for you is that 2010 will be a year filled with more laughter than tears, with more happiness than grief, with more prosperity than empty wallets, more health than sickness, more family memories than loneliness...God Bless Us One and All!

The year was 1939 and the citizens of the British Empire was on the cusp of another World War. King George VI, not usually a compelling speaker, inspires and reassures his people by quoting a poem:
"I said to the man who stood at the Gate of the Year, 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.' And he replied, 'Go out into the darkness, and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be better than light, and safer than a known way.'"
